November is Salvador

/Prefeitura de Salvador

For the first time in history, Salvador took steps to create a second peak season in its annual calendar, dedicated exclusively to Black culture. We were responsible for developing the entire communication strategy for the project—from strategic planning to content creation, from visual identity to event coverage. Our challenge was not only to invite people to experience the city during this period but also to evoke feelings of pride, belonging, and community.

They will never erase what we’ve accomplished.

To launch “November Salvador Capital Afro,” we crafted a narrative centered around Black empowerment, highlighting the nuances of African heritage that make Salvador the Afro capital. The film incorporates elements that reference ancestry while keeping an eye on the future. Each scene and character tells a story of strength, resilience, and grandeur.

A representation of what Black culture is, was, and always will be: power.

Clama, tambor! (Cry out, drum!)

Inspired by Carlos de Assumpção’s work Protestos e Outros Poemas, the film emphasizes the intrinsic sensations of Blackness. More than just promoting the month’s events, the narrative speaks to the ancestral reconnection that Salvador provides. The iconic actress Neusa Borges lent her voice to this story.

The response was immediate. And the feedback? Overwhelmingly positive!

The city organized various activities throughout the month, all designed to celebrate Black culture—from Afro-tourism to music, from entrepreneurship to art exhibitions.

We led the coverage of all events throughout the month.

In addition to creating a comprehensive influencer strategy, we developed diverse content tailored to each experience offered by “November Salvador Capital Afro.”

Salvador Capital Afro Festival

During “November Salvador Capital Afro,” we also led the Salvador Capital Afro Festival—a multifaceted event featuring panels, workshops, business roundtables, and free artistic performances. All designed to celebrate the best of Salvador: our Black ancestry.

If one Black smile brings joy, imagine the power of many smiling together.

Where connection happens

More than a celebration, “November Salvador Capital Afro” was a moment of connection.

Investors from around the world came to the city, drawn by the business environment created here. Throughout November, there were meetings, business opportunities, training sessions, and exchanges—a true celebration of Black culture in its many facets.
